For the second year in succession TITAN has been placed first in the annual corporate accountability ratings – Accountability Rating Greece 2009. This year the Group was awarded a total score of 64.3, up 4.3 on last year’s rating of 60.
Accountability Rating employs an evaluation system of 170 different criteria in its examination of data published by companies and available to all interested parties. Rating was developed by CSR consultancy
csrnetwork and international think-tank
AccountAbility, and first applied in 2004. The results are published in
Fortune magazine. Currently the Accountability Rating
TM system reviews companies in ten different countries, measuring the extent to which their major companies incorporate responsible practices at the heart of their business activities.
Measurements for Greek companies are carried out by the Institute for Social Innovation, which reports for the year 2009: ‘Average performance of the 100 largest businesses (in terms of turnover) evaluated this year shows an improvement of 4.8% over the previous year, mainly due to a substantial improvement in the content of the social reports published by these companies, but also due to an increase in the number of businesses which issued sustainability or social responsibility reports in 2009’.
